Wildcats Begin Postseason Play with 4-1 Loss to Clarke

The Culver-Stockton baseball team began the 2025 Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament with a 4-1 loss to Clarke University at the Ozark Mountain Sports Complex in Ozark, Mo., Thursday morning.

The Wildcats, the seventh seed in the tournament, drops to the loser's bracket and will play the loser of the game between Park University and Mount Mercy University at 10 a.m. Friday. Clarke, the eighth seed, is scheduled to play second-seeded MidAmerica Nazarene University tonight at 8:30 p.m.

Trailing 3-0 in the fourth inning, C-SC plated its only run of the game when Ryan Osso tripled with one out and scored on a single by Wyatt Wright.

The Wildcats had several opportunities to score early in the game; however, they could never find a big hit when they needed it. C-SC was 2-for-13 in the game with runners in scoring position, leaving 12 runners on base overall.

Osso was the only Wildcat player to post a multiple hit game, finishing with two hits overall, including a double to go along wth his triple. Tristan Meny was on base four times with a single and three walks to lead the C-SC offense.

Starting pitcher Davin Meier hurled the first seven innings, scattering eight hits and allowing three runs (two earned). He walked two and struck out two. Cole Parkhill pitched the final two innings, giving up three hits and one run.
