Houska Named the Inaugural Missouri National Guard Athlete of the Month

Culver-Stockton College women's soccer player Alyssa Houska has been named the Missouri National Guard Student Athlete of the Month for September.

Houska, a junior defender from Foristell, Mo. (Timberland HS), is a business major who was named a Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Scholar-Athlete during the 2011-12 school year. She has been named to the President's List (4.0 GPA) after two semesters and the Dean's List (3.50-3.99 GPA) after two semesters during her first four full semesters of attendance.

On the playing field, Houska is a three-year letterwinner for the Wildcats having started 28 of a possible 41 games during her career. In her career, Houska has scored five career goals and totaled two career assists for 12 career points. Named a captain of the 2012 team, Houska currently has one goal and one assist for the Wildcats, who are currently 7-2-1 overall this season. Off the field, Houska is a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority.
