Schuster Named Missouri National Guard Student-Athlete of the Month
Culver-Stockton College men's basketball player Jacob Schuster has been named the Missouri National Guard Student Athlete of the Month for December.
Schuster, a sophomore guard from Pilot Grove, Mo. (Pilot Grove HS), is a two-year letterwinner with the nationally-ranked Wildcat basketball team. As a freshman, Schuster started 25 of the 28 games played by the Wildcats, scoring a team-high 9.2 points per game. In 44 career games, he is averaging 6.4 points per game and has made 56 3-pointers, which are six treys short of cracking the school's all-time top 10 list. Schuster scored a career-high 22 points against nationally-ranked Evangel University on Jan. 14, 2012, and pulled down a career-high eight rebounds in a victory over Hannibal-LaGrange University on Dec. 14, 2011.
Off the basketball court, Schuster, a mathematics major, has been named to the President's List (4.0 GPA) after each of the three semesters he has completed at Culver-Stockton. He has also served as a member of the Student Athlete Leadership Team (SALT) and he was inducted into Phi Eta Sigma Freshman Honor Society last year.
