Jacob Schierding Named Student-Athlete of the Month

Culver-Stockton College junior defender Jacob Schierding has been named the Missouri National Guard Student Athlete of the Month for November.

Schierding, an athletic training major from St. Charles, Mo. (St. Dominic HS) has been a solid performer for the Wildcat men's soccer team in his three seasons on the Hill. In 56 career games, Schierding has made 55 starts, scoring six goals and garnering six assists for 18 total points. He has two career game-winning goals and is 4-for-4 on penalty kicks in his career. Schierding has served as team captain the past two years.

This season, Schierding contributed two assists for a team that tied the school record for victories and advanced to the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Tournament championship game. The postseason appearance was the first for the Wildcats since 1999.

Off the court, Schierding has been named to the dean's list in each of the four completed semesters he has attended Culver-Stockton. He was recently named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete for his play on the field and his work in the classroom. Schierding is a member of the Student Athletic Training Organization (SATO) where he serves as president. He is also a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.
