Dorian Hobbs Named February's Student-Athlete of the Month

Culver-Stockton College senior guard DJ Hobbs has been named the Missouri National Guard Student Athlete of the Month for February.

Hobbs, a media communications major from St. Louis, Mo. (Parkway North HS) is a four-year letterwinner on the men's basketball team. Hobbs appeared in 68 career games for the Wildcats and scored 249 career points, including a career-high 16 against Clarke University (Iowa) during the 2011-12 season.

In addition to his major, Hobbs is also pursuing minor degrees in history and religion. He has been named to the Dean's List twice and the Honor's List three times during his tenure on the Hill. Hobbs has also been inducted to the Lambda Pi Eta Communication Honor Society and the Phi Eta Sigma Freshman Honor Society

Among Hobbs' other activities, he serves as Vice-president of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, is co-editor of the school newspaper, the Megaphone, and co-hosts a radio program on school radio station KCSW-FM. He is also the lead singer for the band Syncopated Sound.
