Brock Kartheiser Named Student-Athlete of the Month for April

Culver-Stockton College senior Brock Kartheiser has been named the Missouri National Guard Student Athlete of the Month for April.

Kartheiser, a baseball player from Somonauk, Ill. (Somonauk HS / Sauk Valley CC), is a three-year letterwinner for the Wildcats both on the mound and in the field. As a pitcher, Kartheiser made 34 appearances with 25 career starts, sporting a 13-9 overall record with a 3.60 earned run average. In 2014, Kartheiser recorded a perfect 7-0 record and a 1.70 ERA in being named to the all-conference second team. Kartheiser repeated as an all-conference second-team performer this season despite garnering a 2-6 overall record and a 4.71 earned run average.

In his career, Brock hurled 170 innings, pitched 15 complete games and recorded five shutouts while striking out 116 batters and walking 49. Offensively, Kartheiser played in 147 career games and batted .261 with 30 doubles, two triples and three home runs. He scored 72 runs and accumulated 72 runs batted in while pilfering six bases.

Off the field, Kartheiser is a double major in sport management and business administration. He is also pursuing a minor in organizational management. Upon graduation, Kartheiser is expected to work of STL Consultants as a marketing consultant in St. Louis. He has been named to the Dean's List one semester and the honor roll tree times.
