Ammuniki Wood Named Primo's Student-athlete Of The Month

Culver-Stockton College middle blocker Ammuniki Wood has been named the Primo's Pizza and Subs Student Athlete of the Month for February.

Wood, a sophomore from Bridgetown, Barbados (Barbados CC), is a two-year letterwinner on the men's volleyball team. He has played in 53 career matches and appeared in 198 sets to date. His career statistics include averaging 2.22 kills and 1.07 blocks per set. He has amassed 439 kills and 211 blocks in his two-year stint with the Wildcats. In 2016, Wood was named to the Heart of America Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year and to the all-conference first team.

During the 2017 season, Wood has appeared in 92 sets of the 25 matches played by the Wildcats. He is averaging 2.21 kills and 1.25 blocks per set. Wood ranks first in the NAIA with 134 total blocks and 23rd with 203 kills. He ranks 20th in the NAIA with a .359 hitting percentage.

Off the court, Wood is pursuing a degree in communication and sport management. He is a member of the Faith Christian Athletes and Males Achieving Leadership Excellence and Success (M.A.L.E.S.). In addition, Ammuniki is a producer for KATZ 5 TV, a member of the Sport Management Student Association and the Lambda Phi Eta Communication honor society. He is also a student assistant with the women's volleyball team

Wood is the sixth Primo's Student-Athlete of the Month for the 2016-17 school year, joining Kira McGrotty, who was named in September; Alejandro Mentasti, who was honored in October; Dana Kramer, who was named in November, Breanne Begeman, who was named in December; and Campbell Millar, who was named in January.
