Gabby Hickman Named Primo's Student Athlete of the Month for September
Culver-Stockton College outside hitter Gabby Hickman has been named the Primo's Pizza and Subs Student Athlete of the Month for September.
Hickman, a senior from Albuquerque (Eldorado HS / Fort Lewis College) is a two-year member of the women's volleyball team. She has recorded 587 kills (3.32 kills/set) in 177 career sets played covering 48 career matches. Hickman has a career hitting percentage of .207, committing 228 errors on 1,734 career attempts. A full rotation player, Hickman has also recorded 453 career digs (2.56 dig/set) and 52 career service aces (0.29 aces/set).
This season, Hickman has garnered a team-high 239 total kills, which ranks fifth in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. Her 3.92 kills per set rank first in the league, while her team-high 179 digs ranks 25th in the conference, while her 20 service aces are tied for 17th in the Heart. In addition, Hickman has a .945 service reception percentage with just 16 errors on 289 receptions.
Off the court, Hickman is pursuing a degree in health science and plans to graduate in December. She serves as a tutor and works in the Mabee Recreation and Wellness Center. She has been named to the President's List in both of semesters attending Culver-Stockton. Last season, Hickman was named to the 2017 all-conference team as an honorable mention selection.
Hickman is the first Primo's Student-Athlete of the Month for the 2018-19 school year.
