
Diehl, Larson Named December's Student-Athletes of the Month
Culver-Stockton College basketball players Megan Diehl and Seth Larson have been named Primo's Pizza and Subs Student-Athletes of the Month for December.
Diehl, a senior forward from Chillicothe, Ohio (Logan Elm HS) is a four-year letterwinner with the women's basketball program. Megan appeared in 79 career games, making 30 starts, averaging 17.9 minutes per game before an injury sidelined her after just six games during her senior season.
Megan averaged 3.0 rebounds per game in her career, including a career-best four caroms per contest in the covid-shortened 2020-21 season. She also has converted 70.3 percent of her free throws (26-37) and totaled 228 career points. Megan tallied a career-high 11 points at Graceland University on Jan. 20, 2021, and has pulled down a career-high eight rebounds on three different occasions.
Off the court, Megan is pursuing a degree in sport management. She was named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete as both a Heart of America Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete in both her sophomore and junior years and is nominated again this season. During her time at Culver-Stockton, Megan was named to the President's List three times, the Provost's List two times and the Honors List one semester.
Larson, a junior from Columbia, Mo. (Hickman HS), is a three-year letterwinner for the men's basketball team. During the current season, Seth is averaging 13.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. He has appeared and started 12 of the 15 games this season. In addition to his scoring and rebounding, Seth is shooting 41.5 percent from the field, including 40.7 percent from the 3-point arc, and 77.3 percent from the free throw line.
In his career, Seth has appeared in 63 career games, averaging 23.6 minutes per game. He has a career average of 9.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Seth has scored in double figures 26 times in his career and has four career double-doubles. He netted a career-high 30 points against the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy on Nov. 23, 2021, and pulled down a career-best 15 rebounds against Central Methodist on Nov. 21, 2023.
Off the court, Seth is pursuing a degree in business administration. He was named to the Provost's List after the Fall 2022 semester and the Honors List after the Fall 2021 and Spring 2023 semesters.
Diehl and Larson are the fourth pair of athletes to be named student-athletes of the month for the 2023-24 school year. They join September's honoree Kyla Ellis (women's volleyball) and Ruben Reinertsen (men's soccer) , October's honorees Mackenzie Frizzell (women's soccer) and Craig Bland (men's golf) and November's honorees McKenna Little (women's soccer) and Anthony Flores (football). The Wildcat Athletic Department picks two student-athletes (one male / one female) each month throughout the school year recognizing students for their academic and athletic achievements.
