
Guzman, Andujar Lauded as Primo's Student-Athlete's of the Month for April
Culver-Stockton College softball player Selina Guzman and baseball player Jaison Andujar have been named Primo's Pizza and Subs Student-Athletes of the Month for April.
Guzman, a senior infielder from Springfield, Ill. (Sacred Heart/Griffin HS / Lincoln College), is a two-year member of the Wildcat softball program after transferring from Lincoln College. Selina played 88 total career games, making 85 starts, and registering 49 hits, including 15 doubles, one triple and four home runs. She has 29 runs batted in and three stolen bases. This season, Guzman batted .242 with 11 doubles, one triple and three home runs. She recorded four multiple hit games and three multiple RBI games this season. Guzman had a hitting streak of four games and an on-base streak of seven games.
Off the field, Selina is pursuing a degree in art education with a minor in psychology. She has been named to the Provost's List two times and the Honors Roll in three semesters on the Hill. Among her activities, Selina is a member of the Culver-Stockton Teacher's Organization and the Art Club. Selina plans to pursue a career in teaching.
Andujar, a junior outfielder from West Babylon, N.Y. (Bay Shore HS / Monroe College), is a two-year letterwinner for the Wildcats after transferring from Monroe College. Andujar has appeared in 79 career games in his two seasons with the Wildcats. He has a career .300 average with 76 hits, including 15 doubles, five triples and 12 home runs. Andujar has also recorded 54 runs batted in and scored 62 runs. This past season, Andujar appeared in 47 of the 48 games played, registering a .327 batting average with 12 doubles, four triples and eight home runs. He tallied 34 RBI while scoring 41 runs and stealing five bases.
Off the diamond, Andujar is pursuing a degree in sport management. He was named to the Provost's List after the Fall 2023 semester, and the Honor Roll after the Spring 2023 semester.
Guzman and Andujar are the final pair of athletes to be named student-athletes of the month for the 2023-24 school year. They join September's honorees Kyla Ellis (women's volleyball) and Ruben Reinertsen (men's soccer), October's honorees Mackenzie Frizzell (women's soccer) and Craig Bland (men's golf), November's honorees McKenna Little (women's soccer) and Anthony Flores (football), December's honorees Megan Diehl (women's basketball) and Seth Larson (men's basketball), January's honorees Avery Oetting (women's basketball) and Anthony Ribes (baseball); February's recipients Rosa Anguiano (softball) and Gabe Cox (men's basketball); and March's honorees Jessica Hornberger (women's lacrosse) and Kannon Kirk (baseball).
