Brawley, Hinson Recognized as November's Top Student-Athletes

Culver-Stockton College volleyball player Ashleigh Brawley, and football player Rommarrus Hinson have been named Primo's Pizza and Subs Student-Athletes of the Month for November.

Brawley, a senior middle hitter from Princeville, Ill. (Princeville HS), was a four-year letterwinner with the women's volleyball program. This season, Brawley earned Heart of America Athletic Conference third team honors after garnering a team-high 81 total blocks during the season, ranking fifth in the league, and had 217 total kills, which was third on the team. In addition, Brawley was third on the team with 33 service aces.  

In her four-year career, Brawley, who was an honorable mention selection to the all-conference team in 2023, totaled 548 kills and 249 blocks, including 45 solo blocks. Her kill percentage was 20.6 percent., and she garnered 64 career service aces. She appeared in 349 sets in 112 career matches.

Off the field, Brawley is pursuing a degree in biological chemistry. She has been named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete three times in her career and was a College Communicator's Academic All-District selection in 2023. In addition, Brawley has served as Vice-President of the Alpha Pi Science Club and Tri Beta Biological Honor Society.

Hinson, a junior linebacker from Orlando, Fla. (America Collegiate Academy), is a three-year letterwinner who has appeared in 25 career games. This past season Hinson played in all 11 games, registering 31 total tackles, including three tackles for loss, half a sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

In his career, Hinson has recorded 56 total tackles and six tackles for loss. He also has one interception to go along with his one fumble recovery. Hinson has 18 solo stops and 36 assisted tackles.

In the classroom, Hinson is pursuing a degree in psychology. He has been named to the school's honors lists after all four completed semesters including the President' List three times (4.0 GPA), and the Provost's List one time. He has twice been named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete.

Brawley and Hinson are the third set of athletes to be named student-athletes of the month for the 2024-25 school year. Lauren Bloom (women's volleyball) and Gannon McNamee (men's cross country/track and field) were honored in September while Alayna Chandler-Gutierrez (women's soccer) and Demarion Cobb (football) were recognized in October. The Wildcat Athletic Department picks two student-athletes (one male / one female) each month throughout the school year recognizing students for their academic and athletic achievements.
