
Primo's Recognizes Younce, Mallett as Final Athletes of the Month for 2024-25
Culver-Stockton College women's distance runner Faith Younce, and men's decathlete Drew Mallett have been named Primo's Pizza and Subs Student-Athletes of the Month for March.
Younce, a senior from Bonney Lake, Wash. (Bonney Lake HS / Iowa Wesleyan), is a two-year member of the women's cross country and track and field teams after transferring from Iowa Wesleyan University after the 2022-23 school year.
Younce is the only female in school history to qualify for the NAIA Indoor and Outdoor National Championships, doing it both years she has attended Culver-Stockton. During the indoor season, she qualified for the 3000-meter race walk in both 2024 and 2025, and the 5000-meter race walk each year during the outdoor season.
In addition, Younce holds several indoor and outdoor school track records. She holds indoor records in the 2000-meter dry steeplechase and the 3000-meter race walk. She also holds outdoor records for the 3000-meter run and the 10,000-meter run. Additionally, Younce is ranked in the top 10 in four other outdoor events, as well as five indoor events.
In the classroom, Younce is pursuing a degree in graphic design and marketing with a minor in digital media. She has been named to the Provost's List each semester, serves as President of the Wildcat Athlete's Council, and is a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority. Also, Younce has designed graphics for the Wildcat sports information office.
Mallett, a junior from LaGrange, Mo. (Highland HS), is a three-year member of the men's track and field team. He won the decathlon at the 2024 Heart of America Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships and qualified for the NAIA National Outdoor Championships finishing 13th overall. Mallett has also competed in the Drake Relays the last two years in the decathlon, placing eighth overall both times.
In addition, Mallett holds the school record in the 200-meter dash and is ranked in the top 10 in four other running events. He also holds top 10 marks in five field events, as well as sitting second in the decathlon with 6,329 points.
Off the competitive field, Mallett is pursuing a degree in sport management. He has been named to the President's List for two semesters, the Provost's List for two semesters and the Honor Roll during his five complete semesters. Mallett helps out as tour guide in the Admission's Office during his free time.
Younce and Mallett join Lauren Bloom (women's volleyball) and Gannon McNamee (men's cross country/track and field) in the month September; Alayna Chandler-Gutierrez (women's soccer) and Demarion Cobb (football) in October; Ashleigh Brawley (women's volleyball) and Rommarrus Hinson (football) in November; Maggie Tuxhorn (women's soccer) and Ethan Wilkinson-Felgate in December as honorees.
Also, Jasmine Saunders (women's bowling) and Connor Davis (men's basketball) in January and Kataleena Hunt (softball) and Kile Dowd (cross country/track and field) in February, and Bella Olson (women's lacrosse) and Malachi Gnade (men's volleyball) in March as 2024-25 scholar-athletes of the month. The Wildcat Athletic Department picks two student-athletes (one male / one female) each month throughout the school year recognizing students for their academic and athletic achievements.
