Bio
John Schild will begin his 32nd year as sports information director at Culver-Stockton College at the start of the 2023-24 school year. A native of Quincy, Ill., Schild began his duties on July 15, 1992. In July 2014, Schild added assistant athletic director to his title and will help serve as game operations manager for men and women's volleyball, men and women's soccer, baseball and softball.
He is responsible for the release of information about Culver-Stockton College's intercollegiate athletic program and coordinates media relations for the athletic department, produces athletic publications, oversees athletic department student workers and assists with the management of athletic events. Schild was awarded the David Fillmore Sports Information of the Year Award by the Heart of America Athletic Conference in 2012-13.
Schild earned a bachelor of science degree in physical education with a specialization in media communication and public relations in athletics from Quincy College in 1991.
Prior to coming to Culver-Stockton, Schild was a sportswriter for the Quincy Herald-Whig in Quincy, Ill. A member of the College Sports Communicators (CSC), formerly College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), Schild has covered Wildcat athletics, providing radio commentary and writing for various newspapers.
