Flowerree's Big Week Earns Him Weekly Conference Honor

Culver-Stockton College first baseman Dax Flowerree has been named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week for his performance last week against Graceland University and Grand View University.

Flowerree, a senior from Quincy, Ill. (Quincy HS), batted .462 with five home runs and 21 runs batted in during the Wildcats' 4-4 week. He batted .579 (11-19) with runners on base and .533 (8-15) with runners in scoring position during the week. Fifteen of his 21 runs batted in came with two outs in the inning.

Flowerree hit two grand slam home runs and registered 11 RBIs in a 27-5 victory over Graceland on April 17. The next day he hit a game-winning three-run homer in the eighth inning to lift the Wildcats to an 11-8 victory as the Wildcats won three of four from the Yellowjackets. Flowerree stayed hot over the weekend, smashing two more home runs, and driving in six runs in a 12-10 loss at Grand View Saturday.

Overall, Flowerree is tied for the most home runs in the Heart with 11 round-trippers and is tied for sixth in the league in RBIs with 37. Flowerree is batting .258 with 33 hits in 128 at-bats, scored 23 runs and has two doubles in 42 games this season.  

The Wildcats are scheduled to host 20th-ranked Central Methodist University this Friday and Saturday, April 28-29, in a four-game regular season finale at Nichols Field in Canton. Doubleheaders will be played with first pitch slated for 1 p.m. both days.
