Three Wildcat Baseball Players Named to All-Heart Team

The Culver-Stockton College baseball team placed three players on the Heart of America Athletic Conference All-Conference Baseball Team, the league announced Thursday.

Catcher Collin Hall earned all-league honors for the second straight year after being named to the second team. Outfielder Keli'i Price and second baseman Jordan Scott were picked as honorable mentions selections at their respective positions.

Hall, a senior from Orlando, Fla. (Ocoee HS), batted a team-high .354 with nine doubles, five home runs and 28 runs batted in during the season. He collected 46 hits in 130 at-bats, drew 14 walks and was hit by a pitched ball five times during the year. Hall hit .351 with runners on base, including .355 with runners in scoring position. Defensively, Hall threw out 31 percent of would-be base stealers. He committed just two errors on 222 chances for a fielding percentage of .991.

Hall, who was a first team selection in 2022, batted .329 with five doubles, one home run and 16 runs batted in during league play. He appeared in 26 of the 31 conference games, recording 26 hits in 79 at-bats.

Price, a junior from Belleville, Ill. (Belleville West HS), started all 47 games for the Wildcats and registered a .331 batting average with 55 hits in 160 at-bats. He garnered 14 extra base hits, including nine doubles, two triples and three home runs, had 27 runs batted in and scored 30 runs while also accumulating five stolen bases during the season. Price batted .380 with runners on base and .426 with runners in scoring position.

In conference play, Price batted .301 with five doubles, two triples and three home runs. He scored 22 runs while recording 22 runs batted in in the 31 league contests played by the Wildcats.

Scott, a sophomore from Imperial, Mo. (Seckman HS), started all 47 games for the Wildcats this season and garnered a .297 batting average with seven doubles, two triples and 10 home runs. He registered 34 runs batted in, scored an additional 34 runs and walked 27 times.

In Heart play this season, Scott batted .295 with five doubles, one triple and three home runs. He scored 20 runs in league play and drove in 14 more during the 31-game conference season.

The Wildcats concluded the 2023 season with an 18-29 overall record and a 14-17 mark in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
