Wildcats Swept by Concordia on First Day of Four-Game Series
FORT SCOTT, Kan. —- The Culver-Stockton College baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Concordia University Saturday afternoon at the Dave LaRoche Baseball Complex in Fort Scott, Kan.
The Bulldogs used the big inning to take advantage of the Wildcat nine, scoring 16 runs in the second inning of a 23-6 victory in the opener, and plating eight runs in the fourth inning of a 17-2 victory in the nightcap.
Kannon Kirk collected three hits and had two runs batted in during the first game to lead C-SC. Ryan Osso also had two runs batted in while Jackson Day collected two hits. The Wildcats totaled 10 hits overall in the opener.
In the nightcap, C-SC was limited to four Toal hits with no player having more than one hit apiece. Bryan Barreto had a hit and a RBI, while Jaison Andujar recorded a triple.
The Wildcats (1-9) and Bulldogs (6-3) are slated to play another doubleheader Sunday. The first game is set to begin at 1 p.m.
