Rustin Barth Named First-Ever Heart League of Legends Player of the Week

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its inaugural League of Legends Player of the Week award Wednesday, as Rustin Barth of Culver-Stockton College earned the award.

Culver-Stockton defeated Park University, 1-0, last Saturday in the conference's first-ever Esports League of Legends regular season game.

In the victory, Barth served as the jungler and was the difference maker in Culver-Stockton's match against Park. After his team fell slightly behind early in the game, Rustin's movement around the map and mechanics on Viego changed the game for Culver-Stockton.

He helped his team control the pace of the game, snowballing his advantage to eventually lead his team to a victory.

This fall marks the first-ever Heart Esports League of Legends regular season and postseason in the history of the conference. The Heart will also hold a regular season and postseason for Rocket League in the Spring of 2024.
