Wildcat Offense Shut Down in Road Loss at No. 21 Benedictine

The Culver-Stockton College football team was limited to 112 total yards and turned the ball over three times in a 60-7 defeat to 21st-ranked Benedictine College at Larry Wilcox Stadium in Atchison, Kan., Saturday afternoon.

The only Wildcat touchdown came late in the fourth quarter when Nicholas Jarrett rammed his way into the end zone from a yard out for the first collegiate touchdown of his career. Jarrett set up his score with a 54-yard pass reception.

Two quarterbacks passed for 115 yards for C-SC, which drops to 1-4 overall this season. Starter Brock Nellor was 7-for-19 for 57 yards while Carson Vandello completed both of his passes for 58 yards, including the long pass to Jarrett.

C-SC never found traction in the running game, garnering minus-3 yards total on the ground. The Ravens sacked Nellor four times in the game for negative-37 yards. Tyler Danzey led the rushing attack with 24 yards on 10 carries.

Defensively, the Wildcats allowed over 500 total yards for the second consecutive week. After giving up 515 yards in a victory over Missouri Baptist last week, the Wildcats allowed 550 yards to the Ravens Saturday, including 308 yards rushing.

C-SC is slated to return home next Saturday, Sept. 30, to face Baker University, a 45-42 winner over Graceland Saturday, in the final game before conference play starts Oct. 12. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. (noon) at Ellison Poulton Stadium.
