
Football Begins Divisional Play with Loss at No. 2 Grand View
The Culver-Stockton College football team began Heart of America Athletic Conference North Divisional play with a 44-7 loss to second-ranked Grand View University Thursday night at Duke Williams Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.
The Wildcats collected 272 total yards of offense, including 209 passing yards, but was intercepted four times by the Vikings, who entered Thursday's game allowing just 5.5 points per game.
C-SC scored its only points of the game in the final minute of the fourth quarter when Bobby Ezzard hauled in a 26-yard pass from Brock Nellor with 18 seconds remaining, spoiling the Vikings's shutout hopes.
Ezzard caught six passes for 70 yards to lead the offense. Nellor was 17 of 34 for 175 yards passing.
The Wildcats, now 1-6 overall and 0-1 in the Heart North, returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 21, with a road contest at Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
