Eight Football Wildcats Earn Spots on Heart North All-Conference Team

Eight members of the Culver-Stockton College football team have earned spots on the 2023 Heart of America Athletic Conference North Division all-conference team that was released by the league office Friday afternoon.

Highlighting the selections was defensive end Kendall Fowler, who was the only Wildcat to earn first team honors. Fowler, a 6-foot-2, 230-pound junior from Birmingham, Ala. (Gardendale HS), earned the honor after registering 54 total tackles, including 12.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.

Joining Fowler on the All-North Division team as second team selections were linebacker Devonte Jordan, offensive lineman Tyrese Miller, punter Walroux Venter, and Gavin Gardner, who was named as an athlete.

Defensive end Hunter Feiden, safety Ty Leu and linebacker Dylan DeRosier were honorable mention selections.

Jordan, a 5-foot-10, 215-pound senior from Augusta, Ga. (Cross Creek HS / Reedley College), recorded a team-high 63 tackles, including 38 solo stops. Jordan also had four tackles for loss, one sack and one fumble recovery.

Miller, a 6-foot-4, 280-pound senior tackle from Chicago, Ill. (Hubbard HS / Dodge City CC), was named to the second team for the second straight season.

Venter, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound sophomore from White Bear, Minn. (White Bear Lake HS), led all punters in the Heart with a 43.8 average. Venter punted 67 times for 2,798 total yards, placing 25 of his kicks inside the 20-yard line. His punts resulted in 19 fair catches and only three touchbacks. Venter's longest punt went 60 yards.

Gardner, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound wide receiver from Northport, Ala. (Tuscaloosa County HS), was named as an athlete after garnering 14 receptions for 148 yards. He also averaged 20.4 yards on 23 kickoff returns, and 9.5 yards on four punt returns. Overall, Gardner averaged a team-best 67.1 yards all-purpose yards per game.

Feiden, a 6-foot-2, 235-pound senior from Land 'O Lakes, Fla. (Sunlake HS), totaled 30 tackles with six tackles for loss and one sack.

Leu, a 5-foot-8, 175-pound sophomore from Montgomery City, Mo. (Montgomery County HS), recorded 28 tackles, intercepted two passes, and forced a fumble during the season.

DeRosier, a 6-foot-2, 235-pound senior from Buckley, Wash. (Enumclaw HS), registered 39 total tackles and seven tackles for loss. DeRosier also defended two passes and had one fumble recovery this season.
