Twenty Wildcat Football Players Named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the 2023 Daktronics NAIA Football Scholar-Athletes on Thursday. Saint Francis (Ind.) had the most in the country with 36 recipients followed by Carroll (Mont.) at 32 and Grand View (Iowa) with 30.

Culver-Stockton placed 20 players on the 2023-24 list. Named from the Wildcats were Anthony Flores, Carson Vandello, Connor Watts, David Miller, Dominic Herrera, Giovani Sapien, Gonzalo Garcia, Houston Swan, Jordan Yarbrough, and Joshua Nelson. Also named were Logan Candelaria, Marlon Bender, Mason Humphrey, Miguel Fuentes, Nicholas Erling, Patrick Kelly, Rommarrus Hinson, Ryan Yabi, Tanner Whitfield and Zeshaun Adams

The 2023 list features 968 student-athletes, spread across 79 schools, who achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
