Balanced Attack, Free Throws Lead Wildcats Past Baker

A balanced offensive attack led the Culver-Stockton men's basketball team to an 84-67 Heart of America Athletic Conference victory over Baker University Saturday afternoon in Baldwin City, Kan.

The Wildcats put four players in double figures with Robert Fry II leading the parade with 20 points. Fry also added five assists and four rebounds in the game.

CaRondis Harris-Anderson and Ryan Moore each contributed 19 points in the game, while Seth Larson came off the bench to register 16 markers.

Moore grabbed a game-high eight rebounds and made a game-high four 3-pointers for C-SC. Larson recorded six caroms. 

Javon Modester, who scored just five points in the game, contrasted in other ways, finishing with seven assists, seven steals and five rebounds.

The Wildcats, who led 36-29 at halftime, built as much as a 19-point lead in the second half. Baker reduced that deficit to eight; however, C-SC made 20 of its 24 free throws in the second half to keep the hosts at arms length. The Wildcats were 27 of 34 at the foul line overall.

The Wildcats, now 6-6 overall and 2-5 in the Heart, is off until Saturday, Dec. 31, when they play an exhibition at Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo. Game time is set for 1 p.m.

C-SC resumes regular season play on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at home against Grand View University. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. at Charles Field House.
