Poor First Half Leads Wildcats to Road Loss at No. 19 Evangel

The Culver-Stockton men's basketball team placed one player in double figures in an 80-51 Heart of America Athletic Conference loss at Evangel University Saturday afternoon in Springfield, Mo.

The Wildcats recorded 21 turnovers and shot 35 percent from the field in dropping to 8-15 overall and 4-14 in conference play. The 21 turnovers are the second-most by the Wildcats in a game this season. The Valor, who is ranked 19th in the latest NAIA Top 25 national poll, forced 26 miscues in an 83-68 victory over C-SC in November. The Wildcats trailed 38-21 at halftime after shooting 27 percent from the floor.

Robert Fry II was the lone Wildcat to reach double figures, finishing with 10 points. Carondis Harris-Anderson totaled seven points, while Jalen Blaize tallied six markers. Harris-Anderson paced C-SC with six rebounds.

C-SC is slated to play its final road game of the 2022-23 season this Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
