Men's Basketball Overcomes First Half Deficit, Earns Season Sweep of Park University

The Culver-Stockton men's basketball team outscored Park University 36-24 in the second half to earn a 70-59 victory at Charles Field House and a season sweep over the Pirates Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats fell behind 14-2 to start the game but slowly clawed their way back into the game to trail 35-34 at the intermission. Both teams shot 44 percent from the field in the first half with the Pirates making one more field goal than the hosts in the half.

In the second half, C-SC drained 50 percent of its shots in the period while limiting the visitors to 36 percent shooting. A 20-9 run over the final seven minutes of the half was the difference after the game was tied for the final time at 50.

Robert Fry II paced the Wildcat attack with 18 points and five assists. Jalen Blaize drained four 3-pointers and finished with 13 points in the game, while Jim King came off the bench to net 10 markers. Seth Larson and Carondis Harris-Anderson each finished with nine points for C-SC.

C-SC (9-16, 5-15 in the Heart) is slated to play Graceland University this Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Charles Field House. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
