Men's Basketball Upended at Hannibal-LaGrange

The Culver-Stockton College men's basketball team dropped its second straight game Saturday with a 63-58 loss to Hannibal-LaGrange University in Hannibal, Mo.

The Wildcats, who defeated the Trojans 78-56 nine days ago, made just 16 field goals in the game, shooting 31 percent from the field.

The Wildcats took their largest lead of the game, 48-43, on two free throws by Seth Larson with 10:01 to play in the game.

However, the Trojans outscored C-SC 14-4 over the next seven minutes, 30 seconds, to grab a 57-52 lead.

A 3-pointer by CaRondis Harris-Anderson with 2:24 to play cut the deficit to 57-55 and the score would stay that way until C-SC's Robert Fry II was fouled with 56 seconds left.

Fry split his two free throws to keep HLGU up one and the Trojans answered with a basket with 32 seconds remaining to go up 59-56.

After a Wildcat timeout, Fry missed a game-tying 3-point attempt and the Trojans drained four straight free throws to put the game on ice.

Seth Larson led two players in double figures for the Wildcats with 11 points. Larson did most of his damage from the foul line, making eight of his 13 attempts.

Keashon Petty added 10 markers with Harris-Anderso, Connor Davis and Fry netting nine points each. Larson and Petty each grabbed six caroms to lead the Wildcats in that category.

The Wildcats (1-2) are scheduled to play their final non-conference game this Tuesday, Nov. 14, at home against College of the Ozark. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. at Charles Field House.
