WPU Bench, Long-Range Shooting Sink Wildcats in Road Loss

William Penn University got 49 points from its bench in a 93-83 victory over the Culver-Stockton College men's basketball team Wednesday night at Penn Gymnasium in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

The Statesmen's bench outscored the Wildcat reserves 49-18 in the game with two players scoring 20 points each. Those two players combined to go 11-for-18 from the 3-point stripe. The rest of the team was 1-for16 from the arc.

Meanwhile, the Wildcats struggled from distance, making just four of their 23 attempts from deep. C-SC shot 35 percent overall from the field, making 25 of its 70 attempts.

Three players reached double figures for the Wildcats with Seth Larson leading the way with 21 points on eight of 17 shooting. Connor Davis chipped in with a season-high 18 points, while Robert Fry II totaled 17 markers.

C-SC, which was outscored 36-12 from the 3-point arc, held a 16-point edge from the foul line, making 29 free throws to the Statesmen's 13. Fry was 11-for-14 from the foul line.

Tai Walters-Whitaker led the Wildcats on the glass with a season-best 12 caroms. Davis added seven rebounds.

The Wildcats, winless in four road games this season, will try to pick up their first road win this Saturday, Dec. 2, when they face Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan. Game time is slated for 2 p.m. at Ralph Nolan Gymnasium.
