The Culver-Stockton College men's basketball team captured its third straight victory with a 71-63 decision over Peru State College at the Wheeler Activity Center in Peru, Neb., Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats end the pre-Christmas portion of their schedule with a 6-6 overall record and a 4-4 mark in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. The victory is also the first for the Wildcats on the road this season. C-SC had not won away from Charles Field House in five tries this season, and had gone exactly one year without a road victory, a span of 11 games. The last victory on the road was an 84-67 verdict at Baker (Kan.) on Dec. 17, 2022.

Against Peru, neither team shot the ball particularly well but the Wildcats won the game at the free throw line, outscoring the Bobcats 23-11 from the charity stripe. C-SC was 23-for-26 overall at the free throw line, including 16-for-18 in the second half.

C-SC committed a season-low four turnovers in the game and had just one miscue in the second half. The Wildcats, who turned the Bobcats over 13 times in the game, held a 16-0 edge in points off turnovers.

The Wildcats placed three players in double figures with Robert Fry II leading the way with 16 points. Fry was just 3-for-16 from the field, but made 10 of his 11 free throw attempts.

CaRondis Harris-Anderson added 14 points while Ryan Moore chipped in with 13 markers. Tai Walters-Whitaker finished with nine points and was joined by Seth Larson with three assists each.

Larson and Fry each pulled down six rebounds apiece to lead the Wildcats in that category. C-SC out-rebounded Peru State 38-36 in the game to improve to 5-0 when leading in rebounds.

The Wildcats are slated to break for the holidays before returning to action on Wednesday, Jan. 3, at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
