
Wildcats Claims Fourth Straight Victory behind Walters-Whitaker Double-Double
Tai Walters-Whitaker recorded a double-double as the Culver-Stockton College men's basketball team returned from a two-week hiatus and claimed its fourth straight victory with a 75-69 victory over Mount Mercy University Wednesday night in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Walters-Whitaker poured in 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to register his first double-double as a Wildcat. He was 7-for-11 from the field, including 4-for-6 from the 3-point stripe. The 22 points was his career-best in a C-SC uniform.
Walters-Whitaker had plenty of help as Robert Fry II contributed 17 points and Seth Larson added 11 markers. Larson also garnered three assists and three steals, both team-highs.
The Wildcats ended the first half with a slim 40-39 lead but found themselves trailing 67-62 with 6:30 remaining in the game. However, C-SC outscored the hosts 13-2 over the span to earn the victory and climb over the .500 mark.
C-SC shot 48 percent (11-23) from the field in the second half, including 6-for10 from outside the 3-point arc. Overall, the Wildcats shot 44 percent from the field and 53 percent (10-19) from distance. C-SC limited the Mustangs to 39 percent shooting in the game.

- After dropping 11 straight road games dating back to the 2022-23 season, the Wildcats have now won two straight games away from Charles Field House. C-SC is 2-5 on the road this season.
- The Wildcats are now 6-0 when leading at the half this season.
- Robert Fry II has scored in double figures in a team-high 10 games this season. He has scored in double figures 43 times in his career.
- Seth Larson's three steals were a career-high.
- The victory improves the Wildcats to 7-6 overall and 5-4 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
