Men's Basketball Sees Win Streak Stopped at Four with Loss to Baker

The Culver-Stockton College men's basketball team suffered its first loss in a month with a 71-63 setback at Baker University Saturday afternoon in Baldwin City, Kan.

The Wildcats' last loss was Dec. 6 at home against Graceland University. Since that time the Wildcats had won four straight games, including their last two road contests.

The difference against Baker seemingly came at the free throw line where C-SC shot 13 free throws, making 12, while Baker attempted 27 free throws, draining 21 of them.

The Wildcats stayed within striking distance by drilling nine 3-pointers in the game, and holding a 27-12 scoring edge from outside the arc. The 63 points were the fewest scored by the Wildcats since they totaled 57 in a road loss to Benedictine on Dec. 2.

CaRondis Harris-Anderson came off the bench to lead the Wildcat scoring attack, finishing with a season-high 18 points. Harris-Anderson was 7-for-11 from the field overall, including 3-for-4 from distance. Harris-Anderson also matched his season-high with five rebounds.

Robert Fry II added 13 markers for the Wildcats, hitting double figures for the 44th time in his Wildcat career.

C-SC was out-rebounded 34-31 in the game but still held a 9-7 advantage on second chance points. Connor Davis led the Wildcats with six caroms while Ryan Moore joined Harris-Anderson with five rebounds. Tai Walters-Whitaker dished out a team-best four assists.
