
Men's Basketball Begins 2025 with Loss at MNU
The Culver-Stockton men's basketball team began the new year with a 76-63 setback to MidAmerica Nazarene University Thursday night at the Cook Center in Olathe, Kan.
The Wildcats trailed 40-34 at halftime before the Pioneers began the second half with a 14-4 run in the first five minutes to take a 54-38 lead. C-SC would get as close as eight points at 66-58 on a 3-pointer by Connor Davis with 3:55 to play in the game but could not inch any closer.
C-SC shot 36 percent from the field and was out-rebounded 46-31 in the game. The Wildcats did force 14 turnovers in the game, scoring 14 points off this miscues.
C-SC was paced by Tai Walters-Whitaker with 16 points, six rebounds and three assists. Martez Rhodes added 11 points and three assists, while Davis chipped in with 11 markers and five caroms.
The Wildcats, now 3-11 overall and 3-7 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, had their game with Missouri Valley postponed Saturday due to the potential for inclement weather Saturday night. C-SC will return to action Wednesday, Jan. 8, against Central Methodist at Charles Field House. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
