Benedictine Keeps Wildcats Winless in Conference Play
The Culver-Stockton men's basketball team remained winless in Heart of America Athletic Conference play after an 82-72 home loss to Benedictine College Saturday afternoon at Charles Field House.
The Wildcats shot 50 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes but still trailed 44-37 after the Ravens scorched the nets at a 57 percent rate, including 53 percent from the 3-point stripe.
Unfortunately for the Wildcats, Benedictine remained hot in the second half, shooting 54 percent in the second half to finish at 56 percent for the game. C-SC cooled off to just 40 percent in the second half.
Four Wildcat players scored in double figures with Damar Jenkins leading the way with 18 points. Alex Jackson IV added a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Kamren Wires came off the bench and scored all 13 of his points in the second half. Travis Green III was the fourth player in double figures with 12 markers.
The Wildcats will try to secure that first conference victory this Tuesday, November 25, when they host Central Methodist University at Charles Field House. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
