Bieri Earns All-Tournament Nod; Wildcats Place 20th at Midwest Collegiate Championships

Freshman Keaten Bieri bowled four games of 235 or higher and recorded 1,387 total pins in six team games to place fourth at the Midwest Collegiate Championships last weekend at Bowlero in Wauwatosa, Wis.

Bieri rolled games of 269, 268, 243 and 235 to finish with an average of 231.2 to earn a top-five finish and collect his first all-tournament team award in only his second collegiate tournament.

As a team the Wildcats finished 20th overall among the 47 teams competing in the event, totaling 8,904 pins. C-SC recorded 5,921 pins on Saturday during the team games, and 2,983 pins in 16 baker games. The Wildcats, led by Bieri, averaged 986.8 pins in the six team games and 186.4 pins in the 16 baker games Sunday.

In addition to Bieri, the Wildcats got a 47th place finish from Levi Staley, who rolled a high game of 244, and ended the weekend with 1,176 pins or an average of 196. Simon Larson placed 89th overall with 1,018 pins in five games, an average of 203.6, while Jake Evitts finished 27th overall with 923 pins in five games for an average of 184.6.

Kiante Depree bowled in four of the six games, recording 786 pins, while Mason Will bowled three of the six games and registered 472 pins, an average of 157.3. River Van Veghel also bowled for the Wildcats in just one game.

C-SC is scheduled to compete in the Mid-States Championships Oct. 21-22 at West Acres Lanes in Wichita, Kan.
