Men's Bowling Places 10th Out of 14 teams at Five Seasons Classic

The Culver-Stockton College men's bowling program competed at the Five Seasons Classic Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 28-29, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The Wildcats ended the two-day event with a total of 8,239 pins, finishing 10th among the 14 teams competing. C-SC recorded 4,680 pins in five team games Saturday, an average of 936 pins per game, and 3,559 pins in 20 baker games Sunday, an average of 178 per game, to reach their total. Host Mount Mercy won the event with 9,483 total pins.

River Van Veghel was the top individual finisher for the Wildcats, placing 24th in a field of 178 bowlers who competed in the event. Van Veghel registered 973 total pins in five games, averaging 194.6 per game, and had high games of 208 and 200.

Keaten Bieri finished 35th in the field with 954 pins discarded in five games, averaging 190.8 per game. Bieri rolled a high game of 201. Simon Larsen bowled in four of the five team games and finished 100th overall with 714 total pins, an average of 178,5. Larson rolled two games of 200 or more, tabulating scores of 205 and 210.

Kiante Depree and Mason Will each bowled in three of the five team games for the Wildcats. Depree garnered an average of 204.3 in his three games, totaling 613 pins. Depree had games of 226 and 210 to finish 114th overall. Will placed 123rd overall with 557 total pins in his three games. Will averaged 185.7, rolling a team-best game of 233 in the second game.

Levi Staley, Gavin Moeller and Cole Gillenwater also competed in the team games for the Wildcats, competing in two of fewer games.

The Wildcats are scheduled to return to action Nov. 11-12 at the Leatherneck Classic in Davenport, Iowa. The men's team will compete at Big River Bowling.
