Men's Bowling Rallies on Second Day, Jumps Seven Spots in Final Standings

The Culver-Stockton College men's bowling team finished 29th in the 23rd Annual Leatherneck Classic hosted by Western Illinois University at Big River Bowling in Davenport, Iowa, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 11-12.

The Wildcats posted 4,244 total pins in five team games Saturday to sit in 36th place among the 44 teams competing in the event. On Sunday, C-SC rebounded in the baker games Sunday, averaging 177.4 pins per game, to record 2,839 total pins and finish with 7,033 pins over the two-day tournament to jump up seven spots to its final position.

Keaten Bieri and Simon Larsen were the only Wildcat bowlers to participate in all five team games Saturday. Bieri claimed 964 total pins, an average of 192.8, to finish 72nd overall. Bieri registered a high game of 265 in the final team game of the day.

Larsen concluded the tournament in 156th place with a five-game total of 767 total pins, or an average of 153.4. Larsen bowled four games of 150 or less before rallying for a 213 game in the final game of the night.

The Wildcats are scheduled to compete in the NAIA Invitational this weekend, Nov. 18-19, at Town and Country Lanes in Joliet, Ill.
