Men's Bowling Competes in the NAIA Invitational

The Culver-Stockton College men's bowling team competed in the NAIA Invitational at Town and Country Lanes in Joliet, Ill., over the weekend.

The Wildcats totaled 7,854 pins over the two-day period to finish 12th overall among the 13 teams competing in the event. C-SC recorded 4,391 pins in five team games Saturday, an average of 878.2 pins per game, and 3,463 pins in 20 baker games Sunday for an average of 173.2 pins per game.

Individually, Levi Staley was the top Wildcat bowler, finishing 18th overall in a field of 136 bowlers, with a total of 968 pins. He averaged 192.6 pins per game in the five team games, rolling high games of 202, 203, and 214.

River Van Veghel placed 32nd overall with 920 total pins and an average of 184. Van Veghel twice rolled games of 200 or more, garnering games of 226 and 215.

Jake Evitts bowled in four of the five games and finished with 746 pins, or an average of 186.5, and finished 57th in the field. Keaten Bieri also bowled four games and finished 63rd overall with 703 total pins, an average of 175.8 pins per game.

Gavin Moeller also competed for the Wildcats and bowled in three of the five games on Saturday. Mason Will bowled in two of the five games, while Kiante Depree and Cole Gillenwater each participated in one game on Saturday.

The Wildcats are off until after the holidays when they start the spring semester portion of their schedule at the Kegel/ISBPA Midwest Classic Jan. 13-14. The event takes place at the Stardust Bowl in Addison, Ill.
