
Men's Bowling Finishes 27th in Opening Event of Season
The Culver-Stockton College men's bowling team began its 2024-25 season over the weekend in the Midwest Collegiate Championships at Bowlero Lanes in Wauwatosa, Wis., Oct. 5-6.
The Wildcats finished 27th overall among the 53 teams competing in the tier one event. C-SC collected 4,781 pins in five team games and stationed in 31st place after the first day. However, the Wildcats rallied on Sunday with 3,203 pins in the 16 baker games, averaging 200.18 pins per game to jump four sports in the standings with 7,984 total pins for the event.
Individually, Jake Evitts was the top Wildcat finisher with 1,025 total pins, good for 65th place overall. Evitts averaged 205 pins per game, rolling a high game of 218. Mason Will finished 100th overall with 965 total pins in his five team games. Will, who rolled a 213 high game, averaged 193 pins per game.
Kody Birmes and Levi Staley ended 113th and 118th overall, respectively. Birmes averaged 189.2 pins per game and finished with 946 pins overall. He rolled a high game of 212. Meanwhile, Staley averaged 187.8 pins per game and ended the weekend with 939 total pins. He had a high game of 207.
Gavin Moeller rounded out the Wildcat scoring with a 141st place finish, rolling an average of 181.2 for five games. He finished with 906 total pins and rolled a high game of 213, which tied for the second-highest score of the weekend among the Wildcats.
The Wildcats are scheduled to compete in the Five Seasons's Classic on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 19-20, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The event will take place at Man City Bowl.
