
Evitts Records Top 10 Finish at Five Seasons Classic
The Culver-Stockton College men's bowling team finished 11th at the 12-team Five Seasons Classic over the weekend at May City Bowl in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The Wildcats recorded 7,679 total pins in five team games Saturday and 20 baker games. C-SC averaged 861.6 for a total of 4,308 pins in five team games. The Wildcats knocked down 3,371 pins in 20 baker games, averaging 168.6 pins per game. Mount Mercy won the event with9,407 total pins over the two days.
Individually, Jake Evitts registered a top 10 finish, averaging 206.8 pins in five game Saturday, which was good for eighth overall. He rolled a 279 and a 221 game during the day. Mason Will finished 28th overall with an average of 181.8 or 909 total pins. He rolled two games of 200 or more with a 223 and 211.
Gavin Moeller was 42nd overall with 867 total pins in five games, an average of 173.4. Moeller started his tournament with a 205 game.
Levi Staley and Kody Birmes rolled four of the five games for the Wildcats, while Ashton Weilandich bowled in two of the five games. Staley garnered 623 pins to place 85th overall, Birmes tallied 542 total pins to place 92nd overall, and Weilandich collected 284 pins in his two games for an average of 142.
The Wildcats are back in action next weekend, Oct. 26-27, at the Jayhawk Collegiate Challenge in Lawrence, Kan. The event is being held at Royal Crest Lanes.
