
Men's Bowling Narrowly Misses Cut; Finishes Ninth at Jayhawk Collegiate Challenge
The Culver-Stockton College men's bowling team narrowly missed making bracket play at the Jayhawk Collegiate Championships, finishing ninth overall among the 15 teams in the field. The top eight team advanced to bracket play.
The Wildcats finished 6,599 total pins after the team games and baker games, falling 38 pins short of eighth place University of St. Mary. Wichita State University qualified first overall with 7,835 total pins.
Individually, Levi Staley was the top C-SC finisher, placing 22nd overall with 993 total pins. Staley rolled high games of 212 and 224, averaging 198.6 pins per game. Jake Evitts registered 972 total pins to finish 28th overall. He averaged 194.4 pins with games of 216 and 222. Finishing 47th overall was Mason Will who averaged 182.2 pins per game and recorded 911 total pins. Will garnered a high game of 213.
Gavin Moeller bowled in four of the five team games, averaging 160 pins per game while Ashton Weilandich bowled in three of the five team games and averaged 183.3 pins per game. Kody Birmes also bowled in three games and averaged 157.3 pins per game.
The Wildcats are off until Dec. 7-8 when they compete in the Warhawk Open at Stardust Lanes in Addison, Ill.
