Men's Bowling Places 14th at Warhawk Open

The Culver-Stockton College men's bowling team completed the first semester of competition with a 14th place finish at the Warhawk Open at Stardust Lanes in Addison, Ill., Saturday and Sunday.

The Wildcats totaled 7,140 total pins over the two-day event, registering 4,400 pins in five team games Saturday, and 2,740 pins in 16 baker games Sunday. The Wildcats averaged 880 pins in the five teams games, and 171.3 pins in the baker games.

All five players competing for the Wildcats finished in the top 100 individually led by Jake Evitts with a 49th place finish. Evitts totaled 951 pins, an average of 190.2 pins per game, and had three games over 200, including 222, 206 and 201.

Gavin Moeller finished 85th overall with 872 pins, an average of 174.4 pins per game, while Levi Staley placed 88th overall with 866 total pins, an average of 172.0 pins per game. Mason Will finished 90th overall with 859 pins, including a high game of 233, and Kody Birmes placed 92nd overall with 858 pins and a high game of 201.

The Wildcats will break for the holidays before returning to action Jan. 18-19 at the Columbia College Clash. That tournament is scheduled to be played at AMF Town and Country Lanes in Columbia, Mo.
