Bland Records Top 10 Finish at Spring Break Invitational

The Culver-Stockton men's golf team started its spring season with a seventh place finish in the Lawrence Tech University Spring Break Invitational at Grand National Lake Course in Opelika, Ala.

The Wildcats shot a team score of 323 the first day and 322 the next day to sit in seventh place after two rounds. Playing in wet conditions Friday, the tournament was cut to nine holes due to heavy rain and storms and C-SC carded a 159 to finish at 804 overall, good for seventh place among 10 teams.

Craig Bland earned a top 10 finish with a 11-over 191. Bland shot 4-over the first day, six-over the second day and was at 1-over Friday after nine holes.

Cade Coon was on Bland's heels and finished in a tie for 11th place with a score of 12-over 192. Coon shot 76-77-39 over the three days. Conner Bross tied for 29th overall with a score of 21-over 201.

Brady Walker tied for 48th overall with a three-day score of 40-over 220, while Jacob Thomas finished 53rd overall with a score of 45-over 225. Cole Williams rounded out the squad with a 54th place finish with a 45-hole total of 48-over 228.

The Wildcats are scheduled to play in the William Woods Spring Invitational on Monday, March 27, at Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton, Mo.
