Wildcats Place Fifth at Verhille Invitational in Final Heart Tuneup
The Culver-Stockton men's golf team finished fifth at the Verhille Invitational in its final tuneup before the Heart of America Athletic Conference championships next week.
The Wildcats carded a 36-hole total 620, shooting 309 in the first round Tuesday and 311 in the second round Wednesday. Kirkwood Community College won the event with a 584. Baker University was second at 608.
Individually, Cade Coon continued to play well this spring, finishing tied for 10th overall with a 6-over 150. Coon carded identical scores of 3-over 75 each day.
Conner Bross tied for 15th with a score of 9-over 153, carding a score of 4-over 76 Wednesday after shooting a 5-over 77 Tuesday. Craig Bland tied for 27th with a score of 13-over 157 (78-79) while Cole Williams was 25-over with a score of 169 (79-90). Brady Walker was 31-over par with a score of 175 (94-81).
Jacob Thomas played as an individual and carded a 36-hole score of 38-over par (95-87).
C-SC is scheduled to participate in the Heart Championships April 24-25, at the Preserve in Moravia, Iowa.
