Craig Bland Finishes Second at Saints Classic, Wildcats Placed Sixth Overall
Craig Bland shot identical rounds of 3-over 74 Monday and Tuesday to finish second in the Saints Classic hosted by Holy Cross College at Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Ill.
Bland, who was in a three-way tie for first after the first round, finished at 6-over 148, two strokes behind medalist Peyton Woods of Illinois Central who carded a 4-over 146 over the two days.
As a team, the Wildcats registered a two-day score of 641 to place sixth among the 11 teams competing in the event. C-SC carded scores of 318 and 323 to end at 73-over par. Morningside (Iowa) won the event at 51-over 619.
Cade Coon and Matt Dunham each finished 28th overall with scores of 23-over 165. Coons recorded scores of 83-82 while Dunham shot 87-78 over the two days. Jacob Thomas finished 41st overall with a 30-over 172 (83-89), while Conner Bross shot 7-over the first day before being unable to finish the tournament the second day.
The Wildcats are scheduled to host the Wildcat Classic this Sunday and Monday, Oct. 15-16 at Spring Lake Country Club in Quincy, Ill.
