Bland Records Third Straight Top 5 Finish; Helps Lead Men's Golf to Fourth Place Overall

The Culver-Stockton College men's golf team concluded the fall portion of the season with its second straight fourth place finish Monday afternoon at the Battle in the Ozarks Tournament.

The Wildcats completed the first round Monday with a score of 311 at Old Kinderhook Golf Club and Resort in Camdenton, Mo., which featured a 6637-yard, par 71 layout. Williams Baptist carded a score of 302 to claim the title. The tournament was originally scheduled to be a two-day, 36-hole tournament, but was shortened to one day and 18 holes due to sub-freezing temperatures invading the region Monday night and Tuesday.

Craig Bland ended a splendid fall season with his third straight top five finish and his fourth top 10 finish in the five tournaments played. Bland carded a 1-over 72 to finish in a three-way tie for second place but dropped to third overall in a scorecard playoff determination.

Sophomore Brady Walker had his best finish as a Wildcat, tying for 15th overall with a round of 6-over 77. Senior Cade Coon finished tied for 33rd, recording a 9-over 80, while Conner Bross carded an 11-over 82 to finish tied for 41st place.

Matt Dunham completed the Wildcat fivesome, tying for 68th place with a score of 21-over 92. Brevin Wilson competed as an individual and tied for 37th place with a round of 10-over 81.

The Wildcats will use the winter months to hone their skills before ramping up for their spring season, which is scheduled to begin in March.
