Men's Golf Places Seventh in Alabama at the Spring Break Invitational

The Culver-Stockton men's golf team opened the spring season with a seventh place finish at the Spring Break Invitational at Grand National Golf Club in Opelika, Ala.

The Wildcats carded team scores of 310, 304 and 305 to finish at 55-over par 919. Lawrence Tech University won the event with a 9-over 873 team score.

Individually, Cade Coon was the top finisher for the Wildcats with a 54-hole total of 11-over 227, good for 19th place overall. Coon shot 79 the first day before rebounding to shoot consecutive 74s over the final two rounds.

Craig Bland placed 22nd overall with a three-day total of 13-over 229, carding rounds of 77, 75, 77. Matt Dunham recorded a 16-over 232 to finish 33rd overall. Dunham shot rounds of 78, 76, 78.

Conner Bross shot 76 the first day but struggled to an 82 the second day before carding an 80 the final day for a 22-over 238, which good for 49th place. Brady Walker was the fifth golfer for the Wildcats and placed 57th overall with a three-day total of 26-over 242. Walker shot 87 the first day before rebounding for a 79 and a 76 on the final two days.

The Wildcats will compete in the Park University Staco Classic March 25-26 at the Deuce Golf Club in Parkville, Mo.
