Reinertsen, Wildcats Run Unbeaten Streak to Six Games

Ruben Reinertsen  scored twice as the Culver-Stockton men's soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to six games with a 2-0 victory over Harris-Stowe State University Tuesday night at Ellison Poulton Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, Reinertsen and the Wildcats quickly found the scoring touch, netting his six goal of the season in the first two minutes, 25 seconds of the half. Austin Jones assisted on the goal.

The score stayed that way until the 65th minute when again it was Reinertsen who found the back of the net for his seventh goal of the game. Martin Quijada was credited with the primary assist while Benjamin Doncel registered the secondary assist.

Goalkeeper David Gavriliak took up the slack from there and made four saves overall to earn the victory in net and improve to 2-0-1 on the season.

The Wildcats (2-0-4) held a 10-8 advantage in shots on goal and a 3-2 edge in corner kicks. Reinertsen had a team-high four shots while no other player had more than one shot.

The Wildcats are scheduled to begin Heart of America Athletic Conference play at nationally-ranked MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kan. Game time is slated for 3:30 p.m. at Pioneer Field.
