Wildcats Score Late to Earn Tie with Park University

Ethan Wilkinson-Felgate scored in the 87th minute to help the Culver-Stockton College men's soccer team earn a tie with Park University Saturday night at Ellison Poulton Stadium in Canton.

The Wildcats trailed 1-0 after the Pirates notched a goal in the 67th minute when Francesco Esteban re-directed a pass by Wayde Roman into the back of the net.

C-SC was pushing forward late in the game in an effort to get the equalizer when  the Pirates were called for a foul in the Wildcat zone.

Wildcat goalkeeper Jack Gibson sent the re-start deep into Park territory. The ball bounced over the Pirate defense and found the foot of Wilkinson-Felgate who beat Pirate goalkeeper Elias Eichhorn with the tying goal.

C-SC had several other good opportunities in the second half only to come up empty. Benjamin Doncel headed a cross that Eichhorn made a nice save on, and Ruben Reinertsen also had a golden opportunity only to be denied by Eichhorn. Eichhorn made six saves in the game.

The Pirates also put some offensive pressure on the Wildcats in the game, out-shooting the hosts 17-12 in the  game. However, Gibson was stellar between the pipes, making seven saves in the game to go along with his assist on the tying goal.

The Wildcats, now 2-5-5 overall and 0-5-1 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, is scheduled to play at Clarke University this Tuesday, Oct. 10, in Dubuque, Iowa. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m.
