Wildcats Yield Four Goals in Eight Minute Span of Second Half, Fall to Graceland 4-1

Graceland University scored four goals in an eight minute span en route to a 4-1 Heart of America Athletic Conference victory over the Culver-Stockton men's soccer team Saturday night at Ellison Poulton Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, the Yellowjackets scored their first goal at the 55:25 mark of the second half. Graceland added its second goal one minute, 21 seconds later, scored its third goal two minutes, 55 seconds late and then added the final goal three minutes after the third.

The Wildcats tallied their only goal of the game in the 75th minute on a penalty kick by Riccardo Fornasari. C-SC nearly got a second goal two minutes later, but Benjamin Doncel hit the left post on a re-start and the ball ricocheted out.

The Yellowjackets outshot the Wildcats 21-9 overall, including 14-6 in the second half. Graceland was efficient, putting 15 of their 21 shots on goal.

Culver-Stockton goalkeeper Jack Gibson did his best to keep the game close, making 11 saves in the game.

The Wildcats return to action next Saturday, Oct. 21, at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa, Kickoff is slated for 1:30 p.m.
