Six Wildcat Soccer Players Named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the 2023 Daktronics NAIA Men's Soccer Scholar-Athletes late last week. Morningside (Iowa) led the nation with 27 on the list, with Florida National and St. Thomas (Fla.) each having 23. Culver-Stockton College placed six players on the list.

Named to the list from Culver-Stockton were Jack Gibson, Jacob Morris, Lucas Kim, Martin Quijada, Ruben Reinertsen and Tim-Luca Ott. Gibson was named for the third straight season, while Morris was recognized for the second consecutive year.

The 2023 list features 1,032 student-athletes, spread across 156 institutions, who achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. To be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
