Men's Indoor Track and Field Compete at Battle in the Hive

The Culver-Stockton men's indoor track and field team competed at the Battle in the Hive hosted by Saint Ambrose University Saturday afternoon in Davenport, Iowa.

 The Wildcats finished fifth out of seven teams participating with 38 team points. Loras (Iowa) won the event with 188 team points.

Leo Coradi and Tierre Butler each scored in two events for the Wildcats during the day. Coradi finished third in the triple jump with a leap of 40 feet, 3 ¼ inches, and fourth in the long jump with a mark of 19 feet, 9 inches.

Butler, meanwhile, finished third in the long jump with a leap of 20 feet, 10 ½ inches, and eighth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.13 seconds. Jaquan Ratliff also scored in the long jump with a jump of 19 feet, 0 ¾ inches, god for fifth overall.

In other events, the Wildcats had two runners place in the 200-meter dash. Verlyn Johnson placed fourth with a time of 23.06 seconds, while Anthony Havens, Jr. placed fifth with a time of 23.18 seconds.

Sean Cleary placed in the 400-meter run, placing fourth overall with a time of 52.42 seconds. The Wildcat 4x400 relay team finished third overall with a time of 3:28.24.

The Wildcats are back in action next Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Snowbird Invitational in Jacksonville, Ill. The meet, hosted by Illinois College is slated to begin at 10 a.m. in the Bruner Center.
