Wildcats Claim 4x400 Rely Title at SAU Tuneup

The Culver-Stockton men's track and field team registered eight top eight finishes during the SAU Tuneup at Saint Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, Friday afternoon.

Jaquan Ratliff recorded two top eight finishes during the meet, placing sixth in the high jump and eighth in the long jump. Ratliff cleared five feet, 8 3/4 inches in the high jump, and 20 feet, 4 1/2 inches in the long jump. Leo Coradi finished just in front of Ratliff in seventh place in the long jump with a leap of 20 feet, 5 1/4 inches.

The Wildcats continue to excel in the sprints with the team of Sean Cleary, Anthony Havens, Drew Mallett and Verlyn Johnson winning the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:25.09. 

Individually, Havens and Mallett finished second and third, respectively, in the 200-meter dash, and Reid Savage placed sixth in the 60-meter hurdles. Havens finished the 200 in a time of 23.21 seconds while Mallett garnered a time of 23.45 seconds. Savage tallied a time of 9.24 seconds in the 60 hurdles.

Also recording points for. the Wildcats was pole vaulter Harrison Walker, who recorded a mark of seven feet, 11 1/4 inches to place seventh overall. Chase Lake placed ninth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:16.64.

The Wildcats return to action next weekend, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 17-18, in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Indoor Championships at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville.
